The only thing more fun than watching a Marvel movie is looking forward to all the upcoming Marvel movies. Ever since Disney acquired Marvel, it seems like we have an endless list of new movies and shows to look forward to. Already this year, there have been two theatrical releases (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder) and two TV shows (Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel), with several more titles on the horizon.
Although we are still in phase 4 (and until 2023), we can still look ahead and see what phase 5 can bring us. Here are all the confirmed and rumored plans for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023) – Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) visit the Quantum Realm where they meet Kang the Conqueror and MODOK
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023) – The Guardians are in for another fun space adventure. This time they will meet Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) and the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).
Wonders (July 28, 2023) – This sequel to Captain Marvel will be three powerful Marvel women reunited for the first time. Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) will star in the film and will likely battle a powerful being (x-men‘s Snape maybe?).
Blade (November 3, 2023) – Blade will feature Mahershala Ali as the main character and feature the ebony blade teased in Edull. Filming will begin later this year.
Captain America: New world order (May 3, 2024) – The film will continue the story begun in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. Previously known as Falcon, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) has taken over the iconic shield and title.
Love at first sight (July 26, 2024) – The Thunderbolts are an anti-hero team of villains. Some villains from previous Marvel projects (such as John Walker/US Agent and Yelena Belova/Black Widow) are rumored to return for this team.
dead Pool 3 (TBA) – Ryan Reynolds‘ beyond-perfect portrayal of Deadpool will finally enter the MCU after being owned by 20th Century Fox. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are returning to write the film. Maybe my dreams of a Cable/Deadpool or Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield)/Deadpool romance will come true.
Shang Chi 2 (TBA) – Right now, the sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is still in development. Writer/director Destin Daniel Cretton and star Simu Lie are set to return.
Untitled Mutant Movie (TBA) – Not much is known about the project except that it will feature mutants/x-men characters. It will also be different from the previous series of films from 20th Century Fox. Please give us a good mutant movie we’ve been waiting for.
What if…? Season 2 (Early 2023) – A second season of the alternate universe animated show is coming. The Watcher shows us new and old heroes in different realities of the main timeline. The first season created so many new scenarios that I am sure the second season will not disappoint you.
Secret Invasion (Spring 2023) – Some rebel alien race Skrull are infiltrating all life on Earth, including superheroes. The comic story ends with an epic battle between the heroes and Skrull in the hidden prehistoric area called Savage Land, so it’s about to get really crazy.
Loki Season 2 (Summer 2023) – Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and many of his crazy variants will return. Maybe they can set some deadlines instead of breaking them.
Echo (Summer 2023) – First seen in Hawk Eye series, Echo will focus on Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) reconnecting with her Native American roots.
Stone heart (Fall 2023) – In the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer, Riri Williams/Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) made a brief appearance. And its own six-episode series is also on the way.
Agatha: Chaos Coven (Winter 2023/2024) – In Wanda Vision we got our first glimpse of the Wicked Witch Agatha Harkness. The incredible Kathryn Hahn will return to play Agatha on the show.
daredevil: born again (Spring 2024) – After Disney bought the Netflix/Marvel shows, it became clear they wanted more from Daredevil. Charlie Cox (who played Matt Murdoch/Daredevil on the show) reprized the role in Spider-Man: No Coming Home. At SDCC 2022, Marvel confined the return of Cox along with Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin for the eighteen-episode series.
Spider-Man: Year One (TBA) – The series will focus on the version of Spider-Man played by Tom Holland. It will be more of the character’s origin story that was never revealed in the movies.
Marvel Zombies (TBA) – In an episode of the anime series What if…?, they set up a reality where most people (including the heroes) had become zombies. The series will resume in this same reality.
amazing man (TBA) – The series will focus on a character new to the MCU, Simon Williams/Wonder Man.
Nova (TBA) – The series will focus on Richard Rider/Nova, a kind of intergalactic policeman.
