COVID-19: Space Jam, Top Gun and Bond – the films soon to be released in theaters | Ents & Arts News

It has been a long time for many of us since we last set foot in a movie theater.

the COVID-19[female[feminine-the forced shutdowns meant dozens of films had their big-screen debuts delayed, pushing back cinema will be released for up to two years.

The major studios are currently releasing films in theaters on an interim basis, in the hopes that moviegoers will start returning to screens around the world.

Below is a list of upcoming UK film releases that cover the remainder of 2021.

A quiet place II

When now

Interpretation: John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy

Plot: A sequel to the 2018 film, it follows a family who live a world inhabited by monsters who have hypersensitive hearing – so have to live their lives as quietly as possible.

Cruella

When now

Interpretation: Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry

Plot: An origin story that follows Cruella de Vil de Disney‘s 101 Dalmatians in 1970s London punk, as we learn what prompted her to start skinning dogs for their fur.

In the heights

When: June 11

Interpretation: Anthony Ramos, Melissa Barrera, Stephanie Beatriz

Plot: Before Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the musical In The Heights – about an immigrant community in a New York City that longs for a better life.

When: June 24

Interpretation: Vin Diesel, John Cena, Helen Mirren

Plot: The ninth film in the Fast & Furious franchise in which Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) must face his younger brother, Jakob (John Cena), an assassin, who works with the old enemy Cipher.

Black Widow

When: July 9

Interpretation: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbor

Summary: we have already seen it in the Avengers movies, but now Black Widow gets her movie, which follows the events of Captain America: Civil War and sees Natasha Romanov forced to face a conspiracy over her past.

Space Jam: a new legacy

When: July 16

Interpretation: LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Bugs Bunny

Plot: Some 25 years after the original, we get the sequel, which sees basketball royalty LeBron James zapped into cyberspace and forced to play the most important game of this life – with the Looney Tunes.

Jungle cruise

When: July 30

Interpretation: Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall

Plot: Based on the classic Disneyland Ride and set in the early 1900s, a scientist takes his brother on a journey through the jungle to find the Tree of Life – but must outsmart a rival German expedition.

The respect

When: August 13

Interpretation: Jennifer Hudson, Marlon Wayans, Forest Whittaker

Plot: Aretha Franklin is the latest star to get a biopic, with Respect following the singer’s life and civil rights activist.

People do nothing: big in Japan

When: August 18

Interpretation: Asim Chaudhry, Allan Mustafa, Hugo Chegwin

Plot: From Hounslow to Tokyo – The Kurupt FM team travels to Japan after learning that one of their tracks has been used in a game show.

Shang-Chi and the legend of the 10 rings

When: September 3

Interpretation: Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung

Plot: Another newcomer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Shang-Chi, who was trained to be an assassin during a young age, is dragged into the secret organization Ten Rings and forced to confront his past.

Dear Evan Hansen

When: September 24

Interpretation: Ben Platt, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore

Plot: A crash of Broadway and the West End, the film looks at the dismantling of a lie told by the main character who struggles with anxiety and tries to fit in.

James Bond: no time to die

Plot: On Daniel Craig’s last trip in 007, he is sent to find a missing scientist – but is confronted by a villain who has a plan to kill millions of people.

Plot: Based on the 1960s novel, Dune is a sci-fi epic that sees a battle for a life-prolonging substance on the planet Arrakis.

Last night in Soho

When: October 29

Interpretation: Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith

Plot: In this new psychological horror from Edgar Wright, a young woman is transported to the 1960s in the body of her celebrity idol, but the dark and shady world around her begins to crumble.

Eternal

When: November 5

Interpretation: Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden

Plot: Yet another creation in the MCU – the Eternals are a race of immortals who have overseen Earth for thousands of years and now must protect the planet from deviants – their evil counterparts.

Ghostbusters: the afterlife

When: November 11

Interpretation: Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Sigourney Weaver

Plot: A mother and two children are forced to move to a farm they inherit from their late grandfather – where they discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters.

Top Gun: Maverick

When: November 19

Interpretation: Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm

Plot: Maverick and Iceman are back – but this time as flight trainers, as the new breed of aviators take flight.

West Side Story

When: December 10

Interpretation: Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose

Plot: Steven Spielberg is at the helm of the final narrative of this classic musical, which sees teens from rival gangs in 1950s New York City falling in love.

Matrix 4

When: December 22

Interpretation: Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith

Plot: Well, we’re not sure, but the return of the original cast members is getting fans all over the world excited.
