Disappointing Ryan Reynolds movie hits Disney Plus this week

Ryan reynolds knew well before X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released that the movie screwed up Deadpool really badly, so it must have been extremely frustrating for the actor to play the part, having already spent five years trying to get a solo effort off the ground, knowing from the start that it was is going to be a complete misrepresentation of the comic book fan favorite that would leave audiences pissed off.

In the years that followed, Reynolds admitted that he only agreed to star in the prequel because he didn’t want anyone else in the role of Wade Wilson potentially compromising his chances of getting the Merc with a mouthful of his own franchise, but that would be another seven years after the release of Origins that it finally happened.

Ironically, dead Pool grossed more than twice as much at the box office as the photo starring Hugh Jackman to become the highest-grossing film ever made, a crown he would lose two years later to its own sequel. And now, Origins is being added as part of the Marvel Legacy Collection on Disney Plus this coming Friday, but if you’ve never seen it before, you’d better turn it off after the phenomenal opening credits as it’s all downhill from of the.

Hugh Jackman is more reliable than ever in the lead role, and Ryan reynolds shines before her mouth is sewn up, but other than that, it’s comfortably one of the weakest installments in Fox’s thirteen-movie mutant franchise. X-Men Origins: Wolverine saw the studio’s plans to develop an entire line of prequels dropped at the first hurdle, and steered the property towards a full reboot instead, so it ultimately worked in the long run.
