The Netflix calendar for fall 2021 is packed with new movies and shows. As the streamer ventures heavily into the original content, the new film Red Notice is currently the subject of much discussion in Hollywood. The recent trailer for the film starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds has already reached 2.3 million views (and it’s not over) a few days after its release. The trailer for the film further contributed to the growing anticipation for action comedy.
What is the “red notification”?
The film revolves around an FBI profiler, John Hartley, played by Dwayne Johnson, who is on the hunt for an international art thief, played by Gal Gadot. The elusive criminal and one of the world’s most wanted art thieves, Gadot, however, escapes Johnson’s Hartley every time.
Meanwhile, Johnson enlists another criminal with a Red Notice, Interpol’s demand for law enforcement around the world to arrest an international fugitive, played by Ryan Reynolds, for catching Gadot. Reynolds is a con artist and also Gadot’s rival.
As they join the chase, the duo go into action mode thinking they’ll catch Gadot soon but, from what the trailer looks like, Reynolds and Johnson, charming and funny as they are. , are repeatedly foiled by Gadot.
Gal Gadot wins the trailer
The trailer opens with Johnson’s monologue, as he claims to be the only one who can bring in the world’s most wanted criminals like Gadot and Reynolds. As he apprehends the brazen crook played by Reynolds, he is then guaranteed to catch Gadot.
But, contrary to their expectations, their meeting with Gadot does not go as Johnson imagined. In a room lit by chandeliers and surrounded by what looks like precious art and antique pieces, Johnson and Reynolds, both in tuxedos, meet Gadot in a red robe.
Johnson, being outspoken, announces his intention to arrest Gadot while Reynolds says he’s here for the egg, signaling a golden and expensive egg.
Not in the mood for drama, Gadot says, “You want to stop me. Stop me, ”as she prepares to fight the two men. Reynolds steps forward to get his hands on the egg, but Gadot knocks him down easily. And before you know it, in a series of quick combative moves, Gadot defeats Reynolds and Johnson.
The trailer promises the best of action and comedy
The film, with its main cast renowned for its action movie roles, is obviously made up of stunt sequences that are both astute in their technique and dramatic in their appeal. At the end of the trailer, a missile detonates a bridge that Johnson is trying to cross, giving him a big Fast and furious watch who Johnson is known for and his fans love.
Gadot, facing the duo, brings his talents of Wonderful woman and an evil charm that audiences might not have seen before. On the flip side, Reynolds’ sense of humor sprinkled throughout the trailer portrays him in his oft-seen cynical avatar.
Set in the world of priceless arts and art thieves, the film’s glorious aesthetic adds to its glamor. Will all these elements come together to make the film a success? We’ll find out when the movie hits Netflix on November 12.
