Scarlet Witch illustrated that the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe don’t always stay on the side of good in Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Everyone has a dark side and heroes are no exception as some have a greater potential to turn evil than others.
The heroes who became villains in the comics or showed (or could show) an evil side in the movies are the ones with the potential to be future antagonists. It would be just as fun if not more fun to see these characters switch roles and let go of their beliefs.
ten dead Pool
Even in his own movies, it’s hard to call Deadpool a hero because he sees no problem in gruesomely killing his enemies. Dead Pool 3 has already been announced as a lineup for future MCU movies, it’s the first Fox-connected movie and the first R-rated movie for Marvel.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe is a popular comic that could be adapted to introduce Deadpool to the MCU. Little explanation is needed to make Deadpool a villain as he would try to kill heroes out of boredom.
The member of the Eternals that his own family dislikes uses his mind control power to control a small civilization in order to escape war. Druig acts like a rude punk at times, but shows he cares about human life.
The power of mind control is always best used when paired with villains, as whoever it is used on loses all control. If Druig can put his needs above humanity, then he could be an Avengers-level threat.
Namor the Submarine shares similarities with DC’s Aquaman, such as the need for his kingdom before his land. With wings on his feet, Namor has the power to fly through the air and live in the sea, while surviving on land with super strength.
Namor is one of many characters who started out as a Fantastic For villain before becoming a hero himself. He was a hero for a time joining teams such as the X-men in 2011 and the Illuminati. He is said to show how powerful a leader he can be in the coming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film as a possible antagonist.
Starfox is a member of the Eternals, brother to Thanos, and a member of the Avengers. In the comics, Starfox proved himself to be a hero by helping the Avengers stop Thanos from reassembling the Infinity Gauntlet.
He has cosmic power with flight, super strength, and telekinesis, but it’s the risky power to stimulate the brain’s pleasure senses that makes him a candidate to be a villain. He abused his power by using it on She-Hulk and with She-Hulk: Lawyer Introducing the powerful heroine, the only thing known about MCU’s Starfox is that Harry Styles will be playing the character allowing these two to make it to the big screen.
With the surprise return of Black Bolt in Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he demonstrated that Inhumans can appear in the MCU. The Inhumans are a group of superpowered individuals who gained their power through Terrigen Mist.
The Inhumans once appeared in a TV series that didn’t do well with audiences. Going villains can serve as a soft reboot for them. The X-Men Vs Inhumans comic book series adaptation would reintroduce the group of superpowered characters while giving them greater exposure.
5 Mister Fantastic
Earth-838 had Mr. Fantastic as a hero as he battled the former Scarlet Witch hero. Something that may separate Reed Richards from the otherworld of the main continuity is giving Earth-616 Reed Richards a villainous edge.
Much like Tony Stark and Dr. Strange, Reed Richards often lets his own ego get in his way and allows him to put his family and the world in danger. As a creator, he can carry on the MCU legacy of heroes creating their own villains.
The giant and angry rage monster is feared by all due to its unlimited strength. Hulk can be a mastermind villain using other characters such as World Breaker Hulk, Joe Fixit, or Maestro Hulk.
Hulk is a disappointing character in the MCU for many, as the anger and fear he brings aren’t shown as much as Bruce’s intellect. Separating the Hulk from Bruce Banner would give She-Hulk and every other hero in the MCU a new world-threatening threat.
The Hell’s Kitchen vigilante fights a moral battle as his fight for justice sometimes seems hopeless. His morals are thrown out the window when he is possessed by the Hand-worshipped demon known as the Beast in the shadowland series.
The hand has already been established and shown to be capable of turning heroes into villains using Electra. If he’s still seen as siding with Captain America, then he’s an enemy of the state due to the Sokovia Accords. Line up Matt Murdock with the hand and give up doing the right thing and the Avengers may have a new villain to defeat.
2 moon knight
The highest-ranked rewatchable Disney+ series moon knight introduces the world through the minds of Steven Grant and Marc Spector. Although Steven is the underdog, Marc brings the violence with him without hesitation. Add Khonshu to the mix and that controls Moon Knight’s attitude attributes.
Moon Knight was seen as an enemy with his evil attitude in Avengers vol.8 #33-38 where he went against the heroes to help Khonshu prepare to fight Mephisto. The God of Vengeance and the Moon are in control and Moon Knight’s fate in the MCU is uncertain, this may lead to him having an intense stare with Punisher and taking Thor’s hammer as seen in the comics. .
1 Franklin Richard
Franklin Richards is the son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman and one of the most powerful omega-level mutants in existence. Franklin can appear in astral form, perceive future events, and reshape reality. Franklin Richards is confirmed to be in a world with mutants in Earth-838 in Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Her powers aren’t too different from the person who took her father into the MCU, the Scarlet Witch. With scientific parents and the ability to warp reality, Franklin can do like Wanda and travel the universe in search of revenge for the person who killed her father. His comic connection with Wanda Vision the villainous Agatha Harkness can lead Franklin Richards to Earth-616 and vent her anger and grief over the heroes who belong to Scarlet Witch’s home planet.
