The great red machine of Aaron Dessner and Justin Vernon has published “Renegade”, the first of two collaborations with Taylor Swift.
Dessner co-produced and co-wrote Swift’s 2020 albums “Folklore” and “Evermore”.
Collaboration, Swift wrote at Instagram: “I can’t believe I’m working with Aaron Dessner. When Aaron came into my life, I was introduced to his world of fluid creativity where you don’t think too much, you just make music. His generosity of spirit and humility bleed into every part of his life, and that’s why so many artists have jumped at the chance to be a part of his collaborative project, Big Red Machine. A song we wrote (which also features Justin Vernon) has been released today! His name is Renegade. Thanks Aaron for asking me to show up at your party.)
You can listen to the song below.
The band’s two songs with Swift will be featured on the band’s second album, “How Long Do You Think This Is Going To Last?”, Which is scheduled for release on August 27.
The new album also features Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Sharon Van Etten, Ben Howard and many more.
Dessner is a founding member of The National and co-founded Big Red Machine with Bon Iver’s Vernon in 2008.
