Lindsey Horvath: ‘Don’t Say Gay, Don’t Say West Hollywood’

Council member Lindsey Horvath has dropped mention of West Hollywood from her website as she plans a race against Bob Hertzberg for the open seat on the Los Angeles District 3 Board of Supervisors.

If you thought “Don’t Say Gay” was bad in Florida… Lindsey Horvath has removed the West Hollywood brand from her website. This was pointed out in an Acorn article. The Acorn is an independent news source covering towns in the Valley. Author Scott Steepleton discovered the seesaw.

As started in an article by Scott, “A weird thing happened on the way to Election Day, though. Horvath’s campaign website makes little mention of West Hollywood and nowhere specifically states that she is a council member there, let alone twice mayor.

Instead, the biography page reads, “In 2009, she was made a member of the city council following the death of a long-serving city councillor. She returned to council in 2015, was sworn in as mayor in April 2015 and again in May 2020. Lindsey led the city’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It lacks any acknowledgment that the city is West Hollywood, perhaps a conscious effort by the Horvath campaign to attract some of the new conservative voters to the northern part of the 3rd District.
