Could dead Pool to appear in the MCU ahead of his third film? It was recently revealed that the next Deadpool 3 will indeed be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. As Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool joins the vast universe of Marvel characters and heroes is very exciting, Deadpool 3 won’t start filming until 2022 at the earliest. However, Marvel Studios may not want to wait and look to add appearances of Deadpool in earlier MCU projects.
If a character from X Men the universe was supposed to appear in the MCU as soon as possible, Deadpool is by far the better option. The two dead Pool the films have been the biggest commercial successes of the 20th Century Fox franchise in recent years, and have also received many positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Likewise, Ryan Reynolds himself has been receptive to appearing in the MCU in a solo Deadpool movie, or more team-up episode, answering questions in that vein by stating “I think both are fairly justified. I think you’re always going to zigzag when everyone else expects you to go wrong when it comes to this character. As long as Disney is willing to make some pretty divergent uses or have some very divergent uses of Deadpool, then I’m digging it, man. I think everything is great. With the MCU having taken some substantial storytelling twists already in Phase 4, the scene is really set for a surprise appearance from Merc With A Mouth.
Deadpool is also one of the easiest options to narratively display in the MCU. Not only does he have “experience” in hopping universes and exploring new realities, his breaking the Fourth Wall would provide unique leads to explain his appearance and the existence of mutants. As such, Deadpool could serve as an introduction to the X-Men if he were to appear in other MCU projects before his third film (if Marvel chooses to do so). That being said, here are some of the top contenders who could feature a brief cameo from Wade Wilson in the MCU.
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
While Marvel WandaVision is probably too early, it has been reported that the events of this series will directly fuel Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The Sorcerer Supreme (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) will explore the vast multiverse that was only briefly teased during 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home by the villainous Mysterio. While venturing out and battling dangers through alternate realities and timelines, the Multiverse could provide the perfect way to introduce Deadpool, even if only during a brief multiverse jump from universe to universe.
As previously mentioned, Deadpool’s multiversal “experience” comes from his time travel and reality jumps. Deadpool 2The hilarious post-credits scene, which saw Wade saving his girlfriend Vanessa from murder in the past, killing the terribly hated version of himself seen in X-Men: Origins, as well as filming an earlier version of superhero movie veteran Ryan Reynolds in the head before he could sign to play Hal Jordan in 2011 The Green Lantern. the Doctor strange sequel reference Deadpool’s travels through realities? At the very least, that might explain and excuse his appearance if he were to appear in the movie.
While it has been theorized that the introduction of the MCU Multiverse could also serve as a vehicle for the debut of the X-Men, Marvel might as well wait to enter the vast realm of the X-Men and mutantkind at a later date. . However, who better to tease the future involvement of the X-Men than with a cameo from Wade Wilson himself?
Could Spider-Man 3 confuse Deadpool with another Spider-Man?
While WandaVision will set up Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, the untitled Spider-Man 3 has been confirmed to deal with the aftermath of the Doctor Strange sequel, most likely with a focus on Spider-Verse. Several characters from the past Spider Man movies outside of the MCU are said to have featured in the upcoming movie alongside Tom Holland’s Webslinger, like Jaime Foxx’s Electro from the The Incredible Spider-Man movies starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus from the original Spider Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire. If casting reports and rumors are to be believed, a live-action shot of the Spider-Verse concept will serve as the plot, which makes sense if the movie really shoots. Multiverse of madness.
The big fan hope is that the three live-action Spider-Men will unite, but how humorous would it be if Deadpool was also briefly mistaken for another Spider-Man? Their red suits are similar, and it’s a long-standing joke that Deadpool is often mistaken for the webslinger in the comics and in real life. Just recently, Ryan Reynolds himself made the joke that he “tricked” Marvel Studios into believing he was already in the MCU by showing them the first two. Spider Man films, telling them that they were in fact his dead Pool movie theater.
Additionally, the comics have frequently paired the two heroes as one of the most hilarious superhero bromances of all time (mostly motivated by dead Pool itself). The duo even had a 50-number series featuring their shared antics together. As such, there is significant precedent in the comics if Marvel was to go beyond a simple cameo appearance for Wade Wilson in the upcoming Spider movie.
