Mortal Kombat 2 reportedly modeled Johnny Cage after Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds is an extremely popular movie star, but he’s also found himself somehow gaining a reputation as one of the brightest lights in the marketing industry. Indeed, his company Maximum Effort has brought us a number of viral advertisements with their fingers on the pulse of popular culture. Reynolds was even crowned Adweek Brand Visionary of 2020 and was also on the shortlist to name B2C Content Marketing of the Year 2019.

As fans know, the dead Pool The star’s latest ingenious marketing tactic saw him capitalize on calls to see him play Johnny Cage in a Mortal combat sequel to celebrate Mint’s pick as the best cell phone plan of 2021, and it’s certainly generated a ton of social media buzz. Unfortunately, however, the chances of Reynolds actually taking on the role seem slim, given that he would be hugely expensive for the studio to secure and he’s also one of the busiest guys in Hollywood. But whether or not he plays Cage, it looks like the character will share even more than a few things in common with the actor.

According to sources close to the WGTC – the same who told us that Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka would be The Mandalorian before either one shows up – the producers behind Mortal Kombat 2 plans to model Johnny Cage after Ryan Reynolds. Of course, you could argue that the two already have a few things in common in terms of personality, but from what we understand, Cage’s sense of humor and overall tone and demeanor will be very similar to Ryan’s. . Which means if it’s not Reynolds who ends up playing him, then they’ll have to go with an actor who can emulate the A-lister’s quick, sarcastic, and forceful onscreen presence.

Tell us though, do you think Ryan Reynolds should play Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2? Or is there someone else you’d rather see play the role? Let us know below.
